Sorapol and Illamasqua collaborate...

Wednesday, November 9, 2011
The wonderful St Georges Church in the heart of Soho made a superb venue for the launch of Sorapol’s Spring Summer 2012 collection. Illamasqua supported the show as the official make-up providers with our Art Team backstage creating fabulous looks to compliment the stunning outfits that were to be unveiled...

The collection was inspired by the story of Coccinelle. Coccinelle was in a plane crash and soon faced the reality that in order to survive against raw nature and insects she would have to bring out her ‘true colours’. The brief for the make-up was based around this story and the Art Team were tasked to create the look of a 1940’s opulent woman.

Key pieces used to create this striking, avant garde look were Skin Base Foundation for a flawless complexion, Cream Pigment in Hollow as a contour and Medium Pencil in Sophie as a liner for the lips. Liquid Metal in Stoic was pressed onto the lips with Intense Lipgloss in Violate on top to add a high shine finish. The look was set with true Illamasqua brows in Pure Pigment in Conquer.

Sorapol’s first collection takes inspiration from exotic nature and is built up of contrasts, in the form of shapes, colours and texture. The clothes were luxe, with each item elaborately embellished with hand beading, painting and crystals, using rich contrasting colours throughout the collection.

Thank you to Nick Andrews and Chad from The xoxo Kids for the fabulous photos.
